Learning about Keys
A Key tells you which scales (or notes) sound good with certain chords.
We just learned that a Root Note is the first note of a Scale and also names the scale.By knowing the name of the First Chord in your song, it will tell you the matching Root Note!
For Example...
If the first chord in your song is an "A", the Root Note will be "A". | If the first chord in your song is a "C9", the Root Note will be "C". | If the first chord in your song is a "B Flat Minor 7", the Root Note will be "B Flat". |
